Comenius school partnership

 

 

Nowadays students are very media aware, fashion conscious and assertive, but we feel that our duty as teachers is to show them the roots of their own culture; how it has developed to this point, and also, very importantly, the differences and similarities between the cultures of children from different countries.

 

We will endeavour, through the use of ICT - CD ROM, internet, email, messenger, video and digital photography – to forge very strong links between the partner schools in the project. We will share information about culture – including local customs, dances, costumes etc. – history, the arts, and contemporary students’ culture.

 

The most important part of this project is intercultural dialogue. This will be addressed in the constant and ongoing communication between the partner schools. The teachers will compare teaching methods and different education systems and have direct experience of these during the visits. The students will have an ongoing exchange of information with pupils in partner schools. They will also visit other countries to meet students and have direct experience of their  culture for themselves sharing their findings with other interested parties – including peers- on their return.

 

Last but not least, students will be encouraged to propose and exchange their own ideas on how to contribute to the building of a tolerant society and how to make a difference to promote socio-cultural cohesion and inclusion.
